Licensing Process

If you’ve ever considered a fresh start in a lucrative career, there has never been a better time to become a RealtyOne Group Prosperity agent. As a real estate agent, you have the opportunity to help people with one of the biggest decisions of their life – buying a home! In addition to helping people, you will be challenged to adapt to different personalities, apply law and good practice standards to your daily business, develop new relationships with agents, title companies, attorneys, lenders, and the many other touch points that occur throughout the real estate transaction.  You will be the hub of that activity and responsible for a positive outcome.

All Realtors launch their career by passing a state licensing exam.  You need to identify the means of completing the educational requirements.  Yes…  back to school.  There are several accredited schools to complete the required hours of education. We suggest you visit the Ohio Department of Commerce and familiarize yourself with the licensing process.  We have provided a brief outline:

1.) Complete 4 Courses (120 Hours) of Approved Pre-Licensing Education

Ohio license law requires 120 hours of education:

  • 40 hours of Real Estate Principles and Practices
  • 40 hours of Real Estate Law
  • 20 hours of Real Estate Appraisal
  • 20 hours of Real Estate Finance

It’s all about you! Take your courses in the classroom during the day, evening or weekends, online or a combination of both – the options are limitless.
